The Hold Open Arm to Suit 3016 Closer is an optional architectural hardware accessory designed to replace the standard arm on compatible 3016 series surface-mounted overhead door closers. It provides a mechanical hold-open function for applications where a door needs to remain open during normal use. The arm incorporates an adjustable friction mechanism at the elbow joint. When the door is opened beyond the retention point, the mechanism holds the door in the open position at a suitable preset angle. The hold-open function can be manually overridden by pulling the door away from its held-open position, allowing the door closer to resume its closing operation. The arm features a black finish designed to complement dark aluminium profiles, door furniture and contemporary architectural applications. Its non-handed configuration makes it suitable for compatible left-hand and right-hand door installations. Important: This is a mechanical friction hold-open device and should not be used on fire-rated or smoke-control doors where automatic closing is required for fire and smoke containment. Appropriate electromagnetic hold-open equipment should be used where a hold-open function is required on fire-rated openings.
