1M Rod With Extension Joiner No Tip P84017

The Interlock 1-Metre Extension Rod with Joiner (MPN: P84017 / Alspec Code: 1344102) is a structural extension component manufactured by ASSA ABLOY / Interlock and distributed through major architectural hardware networks like Alspec. It is engineered exclusively to extend the operational reach of bifold door and window locking systems. This component connects directly to a central bifold lock body, such as the Killara Mk2 Twinbolt series, allowing the locking mechanism to drive top and bottom shoot-bolts securely into high header or deep sill tracks. It is outfitted with a pre-installed internal threaded brass/steel sleeve connector at one end, allowing installers to thread and lock two rods together seamlessly, providing an extended rigid rod span for extra-tall or custom monumental architectural door panels. Shipped in a No Tip configuration, the rod is supplied without a terminal rod tip or guide shoe, designed to act as an intermediate extension piece or to be customised on-site with standard plastic tips or heavy-duty Stainless Steel D-Rod tips depending on the project spec. Manufactured from a high-tensile plated steel rod, it can be easily cut, trimmed, and deburred on-site by a fabricator to achieve exact operational clearances and handle alignment tolerances. This extension rod is typically specified for vertical locking extensions on extra-tall commercial or residential bifold door configurations exceeding 2.1 metres in height, and for linking multi-point locking chains inside narrow aluminium or timber stile cavities where standard pre-cut rods fall short.
